Why Us?

Great Question!

There are a lot of tour companies in Edinburgh, so why should you book a tour with us? We truly believe that we are quite simply the best. The best quality for our guests as well as the best working environment for our staff. We are locally formed, we offer competitive pay and we are positively involved in our community. All of the above is evident in our excellent reviews, our happy staff and our good reputation in Edinburgh.

FAIR IS FAIR

Little Fish Tours is a Living Wage Employer helping to ensure a dedicated and loyal team. Our guides, being freelancer are paid competitive rates which are usually above those of our competitors.

EXCELLENT GUIDES

They come from a diverse range of backgrounds from the acting theatre to the medical theatre but they all share one passion, storytelling. We aim to bring the history of Edinburgh alive through the art of storytelling, being both informative and entertaining. It’s not easy having (and keeping) such excellent guides, but it is simple. Competitive rates and a positive work environment ensure this.

INNOVATION

Additionally, we try to be innovative. We have launched unique products such as our Whisky and Folklore Tour and our History of Scotland Tour in the National Museum of Scotland. This keeps us unique and passionate about our work ensuring that our guests have an excellent experience with us.

SUSTAINABILE TOURISM

However, this innovative approach stretches beyond the products that we offer. Little Fish Tours is also helping lead the way to create Edinburgh’s first multi operator organisation. Bringing all the main tour companies of Edinburgh together, for the first time, to find positive approaches to sustainable tourism. This is an ever-increasing concern in tourism hotspots. At Little Fish Tours we aim to be part of the solution, rather than a part of the problem

AWARDS

We have also received multiple awards from various platforms and bodies such as Get Your Guide and Trip Advisor.

Our Team

Alasdair

TOUR GUIDE

Alasdair has been working full-time as a walking tour guide in Edinburgh since the summer of 2017, and loves it. He studied English Literature at the University of Edinburgh, where he also took courses in Medieval, and Early Modern Scottish history.

Alasdair has an impeccable knowledge and passion for all things historical, and he’d be delighted to share that with you.

John

TOUR GUIDE

From an academic background, John developed a passion for tourism and guiding when he was living in Prague for a few years. When he moved back to his homeland of Scotland it seemed that his passion for guiding continued here.

John boasts an excellent knowledge and an entertaining style. He loves telling travellers about his history and culture and most of all showing them the stunning city of Edinburgh.

Dan

OFFICE MANAGER

Dan is our magic man in the office.

He works both behind the scenes and in customer service at the start of our tours.

With years of experience in administration and management, he fills a big gap and plays an enormous role in keeping the rest of us in line in the office. He helps make sure all preparations for all tours and admin are in place. He is key to the smooth running of this company and always gives our guests a warm greeting.

Ben

CITY MANAGER

With over a decade of experience in guiding, Ben was the first permanent addition to Little Fish Tours. Although he still guides on occasion, Ben now has a new role within the company as our City Manager. He makes sure all is going smoothly with all our operations in Edinburgh.

Ben has also brought a keen interest in photography to the team and is responsible for all of our social media and most of the images you’ll find on our marketing.

Greg

TOUR GUIDE

Greg from Aberdeen loves legends, big swords, whisky & all things Scottish. Greg has been guiding since 2015 & has been part of the Little Fish team since 2017. We have been abusing his Scottish looks & ginger locks for our marketing ever since.

He has an obvious talent for storytelling & a passion for history. Pure talent, however, has never been enough for Greg. He is constantly learning new content, expanding his knowledge & refining his storytelling. The results are evident in his guiding.

Sabela

TOUR GUIDE

Sabela is originally from Spain, but has always had a passion for Scotland. She is perfectly bilingual having learnt English as a child. She has guided all over Europe, but specialises in Edinburgh’s history.

Sabela has a love for stories, fairy tales and mysteries. She also has a passion for history and philosophy. This combined with a never-ending quest for accuracy and a bubbly personality has created a wondrous tour guide.

Angus

TOUR GUIDE

Angus hails from Australia, where he did a Masters of Directing for the Stage at the Victoria College of the Arts. He then moved to London where he ignored his degree and started tour guiding. After a few years he decided to return to his father’s homeland of Scotland, mostly for the mountains and the whisky.

Angus brings an infectious interest in history and culture to all his tours. His excellent knowledge is evident and so is his theatrical background resulting in an excellent guide.

Luca

OWNER

Luca is the founder and owner of Little Fish Tours. He started the company in 2016 with just some branded umbrellas, some knowledge of Edinburgh and a fire in his heart. Now, little has changed. Although he does spend some of his days in the office, you’ll still often find him in the street holding one of those branded umbrellas or guiding your tour.

He can boast almost a decade of guiding experience all over Europe and a love for Edinburgh that will never subside.

Steph

TOUR GUIDE

Steph was born in Scotland and although she was raised in The Highlands, she has always found Edinburgh enchanting. So, she has made it her home for the past 20 years. She has a background in music and performance and a keen interest in history. These are combined with a love for Edinburgh to produce one of the cities best guides.

She finds pride and joy in being able to bring guests around her city while engulfing them within its stories with her phenomenal storytelling.

Amusing stroll in Edinburgh. Lovely tour, Ben being a hilarious guide, telling things you don't find in a tourist book, interesting stories, showing hidden gems. Perfect, thanks.
