“I have a complicated relationship with the zoo; maybe everyone does. It's so wonderful and so sad.” - Victoria Coren Mitchell

People undeniably have very strong opinions of zoos in modern society. If you do decide to visit Edinburgh Zoo don’t forget to brush up on your salute. Why you might ask. Because you will find the only knighted penguin in the world there!

Edinburgh Zoo – Seasonal 10:00 – 16:00/18:00 Adults - £17.95-19.95 (seasonal) Children £9.00 - 9.95 (seasonal)

Spread out over 82 acres of woodland, Edinburgh Zoo is home to over 1000 endangered and rare animals. A great day out for both adults and children. Home to all sorts of animals from tigers to pandas, and zebras to penguins. There are lots of daily shows, talks and feeding displays so there is plenty to see throughout your day. One of the highlights is definitely the penguin parade, when the penguins leave their enclosure and parade through the crowds, alongside their keepers. The parade is entirely voluntary for the animals and they participate if they are not in the mood. A must-see part of any trip to the zoo. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants as well as a wonderful gift shop. Edinburgh Zoo is certainly a highlight of any trip to the city.

Amusing stroll in Edinburgh. Lovely tour, Ben being a hilarious guide, telling things you don't find in a tourist book, interesting stories, showing hidden gems. Perfect, thanks.
