A Bed and Breakfast (B&B) are something of a British phenomenon. They are often small, family run businesses that are a step above a hostel but not quite a hotel. Expect a simple room but with honest service. Breakfast is usually included in the price hence the name.

B+B – Rothesay Terrace ££

Originally a private residence, this Victorian villa is now a stunning B&B. Pet friendly, and located just 5 minutes from Princes Street. A perfect place to relax and unwind. Within B+B you will find a spacious and well stocked library as well as a residents’ bar. You will also find free bike hire, so you have the freedom to explore the city your way. This is an ideal place to base yourself for your stay in Edinburgh.

The Hedges – Hillside Crescent ££

Found right in the centre of Edinburgh, so you will struggle to find a better located B&B. Opposite Calton Hill, just a few minutes’ walk from Princes Street, the Hedges is a great base for your trip. Gorgeous views of the park opposite give this a feeling of home. Included in the price of your room is fast WIFI and a choice of breakfasts. All in all the Hedges is a great place for a relaxing stay in Edinburgh.

Brooks Edinburgh – Grove Street ££

Located in the heart of the west end of Edinburgh. You’ll find the Castle and the Old Town just a few minutes’ walk away. However you plan to spend your time this is the perfect place to explore the bars, theatres and shops that fill the city. With a great breakfast selection, you’re certain to find something here that’ll fuel your day of adventure. Fully refurbished in 2013 to add a modern touch to this otherwise stunning old building. Brooks has lovely grounds and a well-stocked bar so is a great place to sit and relax.
